Default Quad cab door not opening!!

OK. got it taken apart. The cable is still working and both latches are working. HOWEVER it isnt "unhooking" at the bottom of the door. At the top it is, but not the bottom. This was a problem for me because i could unscrew the top but cant figure out how to get to the bottom to force it open without completely breaking the door!! Is there a trick im not seeing? any help would be so appreciated. I think i just spent 2 hrs trying to figure out why it wont open. everything is apart and ready for suggestions. haha

My doors are sticky and I have a hard time opening them as well. I have to pull the latch with one hand and with the other hand, pull and push on the door to get it open. Everything looks good inside the door too. I wish I could find a fix too because it is a pain if you have 1 hand full of stuff.

i had a 97 dakota that would jam up on me all the time. i just crawled outa the window . the worst ever was when i was the best man at my buds wedd. and it jamed up and i had to crawl out. its all on video, his wife was so imbarrased, but i was just happy it made it there. anyhow i never figured out the problem with it, and just hoped when i traded it in that it worked.

have you tried pulling the cable to shorten it to make it pull the latch sooner?

IIRC there are rods in there; not cables.

then shortening the rods then
I had the same problem with mine, and the barn door on my parent's suburban and the door on the leer cap. They all work different and i get them all confused! But have you tried shortening them?

I haven't looked at them that close. I will eventually. Hopefully before I leave or before the snow flies; whichever doesn't come first .

The keeper assembly on these trucks would get gummed up and stick, We've had good luck in the shop by cleaning the with brake cleaner and spraying it with white lith grease after. Seems to straighten 90% of them out!

Did that when the panel was off. I'll have to do it again when I have the panel off.
