Default EGT Temp?

on the high way at like 70 with the pyro after the turbo its like 700 F and 15 psi boost. that was with cruise control on. What is a normal temp post turbo on the free way? all i have is a 12 plate slid and some pensicola stage two injectors. would the wrong spray pattern take the egt up alot more than normal? i know i need my timing set bad would that be part to?

The post turbo readings can be off by 400 degrees, maybe more maybe less... I know when I had my bully dog gauges they said post turbo was off by 150-250 but the mechanic who has been helping me and teaching me, said that those numbers could be off by a couple hundred degrees

ive never herd of timing being an issue with high egts, does it smoke white at idle or past 2400RPM, get you pyro done pre-turbo when that tap comes in

I hate to be blunt - but you get what you pay for.

As well, your thermocouple should be preturbo.

Its not to hard to believe actually. Its pretty much simple math if you think about. In the space it has to go before hitting the probe, the exhaust has been intrain with air and can cool down quite rapidly.
Say you pour a cup of coffee at 200 degrees, but the time you actually pour the cup, put the pot back, and take a drink, the coffee has already cooled down 30-40 degrees. But the longer it sits it starts to cool down more slowly. So basically, at first the temperature drops rapidly but as it sits it goes down more slowly. Its pretty much all based around the algebraic concept of half life, if that makes any sense...
