03 Cummins - cold start problem- gone worse ..update

I ran a new fuel line from a can of diesel hooked to buttom of lift pump. started and ran for a few minutes then acted up again.
added a auxilary el pump hooked to a battery and attached to feed to FCA...bypassing fuel filter and lift pump. no change
hooked all back up as normal but added a fuel pressure gauge between fuel filter and FCA. I am getting about 9lbs. pressure, when truck starts to run ruff and sputters pressure dropped to aroung 5 or so.
Any suggestions?...

One other thing to check is the fuel mileage. If it's below 16 on the hwy, got an injector or two sticking open. Park in a garage, then next morning when you start it up, check to see if white smoke bellows out the tail pipe. Those are a few indications that the injectors are bad.
