Default Death wobble. WT???

With 68000 miles, everything is factory tight. Checked and re checked. No factory sway bars our steering dampner...Really caught me off gaurd... Shook like hell, and was only doing about 40mph. Passed over, what I would call some mild road construction..Any idea's?

im gonna assume this is a 1st gen truck thats 4x4......check the drag link and leaf spring bushings.....your factory push-pull steering may be the cause.....

Some more information on the truck would help.

Were you braking when it happened?

I'll check it. The first owner had a camper on it. Inside of the steer tire's were geting worn, bad. Adjusted the tie rod. Steering is kinda qurky? now...Nomad. Woundering som beatch....

sounds like you really need to tear everything down and just inspect it......something in there isnt right to cause this......if something is setting alot like this truck has stuff goes bad more than if its drove every day,

another cause of those tires being worn is bad king pins in the axle......

U-joints wouldn't be turning if the hubs aren't locked/ t-case isn't engaged...

Check the frame around your steering box.... I had a '93 dually that had a cracked frame that made lots of problems...
