Question proper pyrometer install?

Does anyone know of a good tech article, or a pic series on installing a pyrometer? I would really like to put one in my truck but not sure how big of a project it will be?

You wouldnt get accurate readings of the actual egt's. there is difference in the before and after temps of the egts when it goes through the turbo are big and vary time to time depending on the condition making it hard to extimate the actual temps.

Also if I have the PPe boost increase valve how could I tap in the boost pressure gauge

Wou would want to install a T-tap for the 1/8 nylon tubing made from brass fittings. the order of the boost valve/t tap combo is important cause it will do funny things. from the turbo to the waste gate the order goes, Turbo->Ttap->Boost vave-> wasegate.

Thanks

you can get the t tap from the plunbing section of the hardware store, and orielys carries them too

hey i just hooked up my pyrometer last week. it's not very hard. make sure you keep the truck runnin while you are drilling. it didn't take very long to drill though. ummm idk about goin through the firewall. i didn't with either of my gagues. they are runnin through a hole in the door. (hard to explain but it doesn't pinch either of them.) and i think i have a picture of my T ofr my boost gauge if you wanna see how mine is hooked up. you are gonna need more hose. cause i didn't have enough. you may not idk. but yeah. make sure it's all in order cause i had mine a switched up and everything was weird. but they aren't very hard hook ups at all. good luck

thanks For all the help! I think I am going to take my truck somwhere and let them drill it. I am just not confident enough to do it. I cant afford to screw up my turbo bc it is my daily driver. But the boost gauge seems easy enough.
