I was wondering if removing the guard on the pass side of the intercooler is a good idea. Will it give the filter more air, or will it let in to much water (when driving in the rain) and or debris in. I have a stage 2 AFE filter.

 

I have seen several guys take them off, i dunno aboput the water issue tho.

 

i cant see the little bit of extra air being a big gain for us with the few mods we have...

 

It maybe there to help keep the incoming air cool, if you remove it the heat from the intercooler end cap will raise the incoming air temp. The cooler air into the air filter housing the better.

 

I don't think it would let rain into your intake

 

the only other thing about removing it is, that it cleans up the front view of the truck.
