So i bought a 03 and found out its a 250hp SO. 2 things I need to know are these a common rail and is every thing sold performance wize for a 03 fit this truck. My dad gave me a diablo power puck off his 03 HO and I dont know if it work on mine? Can some one explane the difference between these 2 engines of this year and what I need to whatch for. HO is a stick and SO is auto. Thanks.....Jeff

 

It will work on yours. I think I remember hearing that there is more power to be made with a SO pump then the HO pumps. They take the mods better and make more power

 

Depending on the build date, the only difference between the HO and SO is programming. The puck should work but how good I don't know.

 

Not all autos were SO Whats the number or letter in the 8th place of your vin? that will tell you what you have.
Decode your vin here -> Decode your VIN But yes either way if its for and 03-04 truck it will work on either engine.

 

SOs tend to benefit more from additions like your Power Puck or other power adders. You may gain 70hp while an HO with that same Puck may only see a 50hp increase. You will still be behind a comparable HO with the same mods though.
As was said already, anything for an 03 or early 04 HO will fit your 03 SO.
Yes it's a common rail too. First year for it in a Dodge...

 

Yeah it is a 6 in the vin. I will giver a try and see if the tranny falls out,think its days are numbered. But I will ask thoughs question when the time comes......Thanks
