I am getting a miss through the RPM range though it seems most noticable around 1500-1800RPM. There is no percievable loss in power. I bought the truck not too long ago and when I asked the PO said he had no idea when a valve set was last done. Is that a possibility?

Otherwise, on CATs with misses we typically do a cut out test, and usually end up doing an injector or injectors. That is what I am leaning towards right now. I am planning for a valve set this weekend and maybe sneek in a cut out test. BTW its a 1994 with 331000 km on it; the stock fuel plate is all the way forward and timing is assumably stock.

I just want to know everybody's thoughs on some possible causes and fixes.......

 

I'd think it would be injectors. How well does it start/idle?

It starts and idles just as good as it ever did. Fuel filter was done 6000Km ago and I drain the water (if there is water) when I fill up.

 

if it starts and idles fine I believe that means the injectors should be fine. I'm out of ideas. what about a weak lift pump?

 

does it happen under load or all the time?
