DAMPER on way out,where to get new one?

where can i get a new crankshaft damper balancer?my old ones rubber is crumbling on the outside...should i go factory or used?there is a used one i can get from a 98 24valve...will this work on my 12 valve?

I woudl go new. Some stuff you just should not buy used. Try our vendors they might be able to get you a good deal on an aftermarket that will work better then the stocker.

will a 24 valve damper even work 12 valves use the damper to tach off of

the ring yes but the damper wouldnt be a damper if it was just a hunk of steel it needs rubber or fluid to let the weight of the ring balance out the crankshaft vibrations.
