Default Parking BRAKE BROKE cant change crank pulley?

for some reason the parking brake isint working and i am trying to do the kdp mod.
i have manual transmission and am wondering if there is another way to bar the crankshaft from turning other than applying the parking brake.i tried with just the trans in gear and that is not stopping the crank from turning.I knoe on an automatic there is a plate that allows acces to the flywheel and you can put something in between the teeth to stop the crank form turning.
is thier anything else i can do beside applying the parking brake to stop the engine from turning on my 94 cummins with standard trans?

thank you

Put it in the lowest forward gear in 4x4 and chock the wheels.

is there another way to take the crankshaft pulley off?
besides applying the parking brake and the clutch on a standard trans?

no need for all that..............get the right socket on there with a breaker bar then give it a wack with a hammer.................the bolts will come right out befor the motor has a chance to turn
