I have an 05 f-250 and my egr valve just went. I called my local ford dealer ans they told me the new valve was going to be $300. for that price im wondering if i should just buy an egr delete and be done with it. Any suggestions

 

In your other post about this same problem.....you said the warranty was good until October. Have the dealer put a new one in. After your warranty is up get a tuner and have them write a program to turn the EGR valve OFF.

 

Even with the EGR valve UNPLUGGED, it will open on it's own.

You will need to pull the valve and weld it shut if you desire to block it off completely (Bad idea, btw).

 

yea i called my local dealer already and cause i have a cold air intake and an exhaust they wont work on it under warranty. And i have a superchips tuner but that cant turn my egr off does it have to be a custome tune from someone?

 

Put the stock intake back on it, and take it to another dealer.

You'd be dealing with a pricky dealer if you get a hassle for a catback.

well its a turbo back exhaust and im located in jersey.
