Anyone have the seal leak on the shaft of the vp and fill the motor with diesel? It's the only thing we can come up with, checked the injectors and connector tubes and everything was perfect with them. Is there any other way diesel can fill crankcase? Truck was running fine with no extra smoke or heating or anything. This all happened in about a 50 mile run.

 

Most commonly it is the injector leaking or a cracked head. Very common with ported heads.

Do you think a head will crack bad enough this quick? When we pulled the pump it was washed clean on the front and when we turned it shaft down we got a few drips off of it. I just can't put this pump back on and trust it. I'd really like to find a used pump that's running but they are hard to find.

 

Pump had the bearing move in the housing and push the seal out. The shop said they had never had this happen before. They made good on the warranty even though I had tapped the wire on the pump.
