2003 Dodge ram 2500 CTD 4x4.

I've had this stink coming from my engine compartment for a while now. It gets sucked into the cab and seems to be getting worse. Anyone have any idea what it could be? The only leakage that I have found so far is a seeping oil cooler line. Putting it on the lift right now to get a better look.

ditto on the dead animal. look for skunk it puts that odor off.

 

I would suspect radiator fluid....... check your carpet, pass side floor up towards firewall. if it truly smells like a dead animal, I would suspect rottella !

 

Maybe you need a shower????

You mean Rotella smells like body odor when it's burned? Reason I ask is I can smell the same thing from my engine....

looks like ur oil tho, i never smelled burnt oil that bad before, the smell aint that bad from a civic with bad rings

 

Our tractor had a onion/rotten egg smell comin from it and where the exhaust bolted to the turbo was loose and the battery was missin a cap were the acid goes, we fixed all that and the smell went away. Maybe your battery leaks acid, I'mnot sure how it would but I figure I'd throw in my $.02

 

My 03 has the same smell too every now and then... It gets quiet annoying, I have a bottle of cologne in my truck for this reason...

 

yep battery acid my engine compartment smells like that to because one of my batterys wasnt bolted down, it was bouncing around and got cought in the fan my hole engine was pokadoted for awhile
