towing question.
I have a 98 3500 12 valve. I tow a trailer that weighs 9000-11000 pounds everyother weekend during the spring through fall. My modifications are a BD super B turbo a #10 fuel plate, 3000rpm kit, diesel dynamic stage 2 injectors a tow lock control. The tranny has about $4000 into it with billet input shafts a BD convertor and such. I have towed with this setup for years. I did not like how sluggish it was so I looked into delivery valves.
I purchased a set from Piers diesel. They are the new ones that don't smoke down low and keep the smoke down untill you mash the gas. It says for towing or daily driving. So I installed them and man did it wake up my truck. I can mash the throttle at idle and the thing breaks the dualeys loose. Yeah the EGT's do climb if I keep my foot in it for a while.
Up to 1500 pre turbo. regular driving is 600-900. agressive driving is 1100.
Now my question is? I was told by a outside sourse that I cannot or should not tow with these delivery valves. Have any of you guys? Should I be concerned? Or should I just watch my gauges?
