how high is high?

pre-turbo or post-turbo on the EGT probe?

is it just cruising on flat land or climbing a hill?

is this in stock mode or with the adrenaline turned up?

stock exhaust or aftermarket?

stock turbo?

i'd look at boost first. what PSI is he running? i'd make a pressure checker that can be found here---> https://www.dieselbombers.com/cummin...tructions.html and then i'd look into prolly upgrading that turbo. IIRC some of the HY's had a 9cm housing. that can cause some seriously high EGT's.

i highly doubt it is an under fueling problem cause if it was the egt's would be reading cool. overfueling maybe.

Yea...what truck? Too much fuel and not enough air seems like to me! Might want to look into upgrading that snail soon!

auto or manual lugging it in a high gear will bring the temps up. drop the power level. drop a gear. or get twins. my truck hates anything below 1700-1800 rpms anyways!

also have to look at tire size and gears. 3.55`s or 3.73`s and 35" tires will not help this either.

It's my truck. Curtis and I were talking about my temp and who better to ask than( everyone ).

3.55 gears
33" tires
Probe post turbo ( add 250 )
At the time of the egt's 595 , 3lbs of boost , flat ground , 1511rpm's
5th gear - NV4500
60mph
Defuel set at 900 degrees

Prob. not enough air??

How does it do around 1800 rpm?? Sounds like you need to grab a lower gear and get those rpm's up.
