Have both a 01(520,000 miles) & 02 Duramax (345,000 miles) , both used for towing an 8000lb work trailer, apx 80,000 miles a year. Not ready for motors/Trans yet. What recommendations on replacements and price do you all have?

Where are you located?

Options are to find a used motor, swap them, rebuild the motor you have, or buy a new motor. Rebuild or swap for a used junkyard motor will be the cheapest. Just rebuild the transmission. I am assuming for the most part these are both stock motors?
