Default Testin Fuel Pressure

Will the air pressure gauge, grease gun hose and fitting thing work to test the fuel pressure on my 1999?

I have never tested my fuel pressure before, how would I do this with that set up? I really need to test it, I'm kind of in a bind I think....

What I would recommend would be a permanent fuel pressure gauge,I know you probably don't want to spend the money, but I would just do it,it will save money in the long run.

If all you want to do is check it then I'd just go to Schucks or some place like that, they've got a gauge that you can just plug into your schrade? (not sure that's spelled right) valve.
that's the valve that looks like a valve stem that sticks out the side of your VP44

I've never hooked on up to a 99 year model,I guess you guys have a different kind of filter canister, with a plug in the top you can take out and hook into for fuel pressure reading.

permanent fp gauge for sure. I don't think I've got a schrader valve on my vp or ff housing. is there any way i can t into the rubber hose between the VP44 and ff housing temporarily or is there a better way?

nope, only way to test fuel pressure on a 98 or 99 is to either mount a permanant guage or buy a schrader valve and put on the side of the VP. Stock 98 and 99s did not come with them installed, that started in 2000 model year. give your local cummins dealer(NOT THE DODGE DEALER, THEY WONT SELL IT TO YOU! GOT TO CONTACT CUMMINS THEMSELVES) a call, they are only a couple bucks but some dealers on the internet may have them but charge more. its the only way to test. also, genos garage sells the tester for 45 bucks but again you need that valve.
