Default J-Hook Questions

Hey all. Im looking into getting a j-hook on my wastegate/turbo. My question is: Besides just building more boost, does the j-hook also help with adding hp or torque? I mean are there anymore benefits to this mod? I know you guys know much more about this then me. Thank You.

well building more boost will give ya more power anyhow so yeah it will give ya more power, i believe this thing just keeps your wastegate closed longer i dont know if there is more to it or not so

disabling the wastegate will over rev yer turbo and kill it within a year

if ya want more air the best thing is to get more turbo

disable it if ya want but be prepared to buy a new turbo

ah well in that case you have to watch your psi like Whit said or you will over speed that sucker and your turbine wheel might come out of your exhaust...ask my friend how he knows

The J-hook I had on my stocker has a heavy spring on it. It allowed my turbo to build about 30 # of boost. It just stopped it from opening so soon.
I found it while I was in the garage yesterday, so if you want it, I'm sure we can make a deal. PM me.

yeah the tst j hook and the bd ones have springs on them so they will work.. now if you used a turnbuckle on your wastegate that will hold it shut and the possibility to kill it is much easier.
