No worries, unfortunately no broken springs I have had it apart a couple of times but nothing obvious

ha! another person who suffers from the dodge seat belt design! In their infinite wisdom dodge used an electronic system to lock the seatbelt during a collision or pretty much any pothole. The system is constantly using power so to keep the batteries from running down there is a 30 minute timmer that starts after you shut the truck off. To send power to the system to unlock the belts you only need to open the door ... unless your door switch that kicks on the dome light is broken .. then open the passenger door.

Give that a try .. drove me crazy until I realized the belts unlocked after I opened the passenger door.

I think he means that the mechanism inside the seat is locked.

yep thats exactly what I'm talking about too. There is a controller under the drivers seat that releases the seat belt lock so you can pull it out and put it on. For some reason mine doesn't know that the engine is running so it wont unlock unless you open the door to reset the 30 min timer.

And if I'm completely wrong in understanding what you are talking about then ... Whitmore told me to say it and you know how crazy that guy is.
