So when do I do maintenance on this beast. I have 53K on it now. The fluid looks and smells new.

When should I flush it?

I know it has an external and internal filter. When do I do the internal? When do I do the external?

That's a permanent fixture on the desktop.

 

If you're using standard fluid you need to change it every 25K. Running a full synthetic like TranSynd or Torque Drive and you can go to 100K. I change my external spin-on every 8K when I take my engine oil samples. Its cheap insurance. You dont need to change the internal until a rebuild is due. Its actually just a screen and not a filter so it doesnt need maintenance as long as you do your normal fluid and spin-on changes.

BTW- check out this thread on an easy flush method. You cant go to the local Quick Lube and have them flush it unless you want to buy twice the amount of fluid to put in their machine.

im about due for a filter change, hey DD i got some trq drive to throw in but kinda hard to do it alone ya kno

 

hell try to even find a place that has the fittings to do the flush is hard i have gone to 5 places so far and they each tell me they can get them in but they never do
