Default Dana 80 question...

Hello first post here. Well I have 99 dodge 2500 cummins with manual transmission and an open Dana 80 rear end. I just bought a lock right Locker because I'm tired of getting stuck on wet grass . The truck is not daily driven nor does it tow heavy. My truck is fairly stock so I think the lock right will work fine for my application as long as I don't hammer on it too much. My question is will I have to remove the carrier to get the cross shaft out? I would like to not have to pull it out because I'll be doing this alone and I bet it weighs a lot. The lock right just replaces the existing spider gears and fits inside the carrier. The truck has 3.54 gears if that matters. Any input or guidance is appreciated!

You should be able to do the swap. The axle shafts should be able to be pulled from the axle ends. The biggest thing would be to make sure you set clearances with the new chunk your putting in.
