Stange noise underhood from exhaust brake
Hey guys, moms truck has started making a strange noise, when the Exhaust brake is on it sounds just like the Jetson's car is in the engine compartment, anyone else have this happen?
the RPM varies and it will quit making the noise after the RPMs get low enough.
somewhere between 1,400-1,200 The brake still works fine.
At this time I'm thinking I blew a Manifold gasket.
Just thought I'd throw that out there in case it's happened to someone else?
Thanks
Brian

the noise yer hearin is exhaust back pressure when the brake butterfly closes
the metal gasket tween yer exhaust manifold and yer turbo is shot.
Get one from Cummins they are easy to install, then after a few warm ups retighten the bolts again
