So im new to this and am curious. Ive been throwing around the idea of taking my 1999 ram 2500 ext cab with 6.5ft bed and swapping out the bed with an 8ft bed, i do realize that i will have to extend the frame out and all the wires but is this actually a somewhat comperable job. i have access to a machine shop where i can custom make parts if needed and welders.

 

You will have to extend out the wheelbase otherwise you will have a SWB truck with a LB which wont look right.

 

I've been thinking swapping to a dually too so that should fix my wheelbase problem
