i had a thread on here a few months ago about this same truck. I thought that maybe the lift pump was going out so we replaced it, but didn't cure the issue. The thread i had was to see if it could be the injector pump. I used the truck again yesterday and noticed that it starts good if it is cooled off but once it has been ran a few minutes and killed then it is hard to start. The owner said he had noticed that it did the same thing to him. I figure there is probably a crack in a fuel line or an o-ring leaking. I was just wondering if there was a line or o-ring on these trucks that was common to failure. It's a 2000 1-ton 5 speed that is bone stock. Any ideas are appreciated.

Sounds like you are down on your luck in the diesel world

 

They are neither one mine, but they belong to the same guy, i just get to fix everything. He broke the input shaft off on his 15 ft batwing brush hog last friday also. We all have these weeks. He decided he needed to be praying more. I did break two boards and ruin a set of duals on my flatbed trailer today though. I knew better than to let him go with me!

 

Now thats just funny.

 

well it gets worse today! The owner of the tractor and one ton drives a toyota as his everyday ranch truck. he was driving the one ton today and when i asked about the toyota he said the exhaust pipe broke just under the manifold and he couldn't stand to drive it, then when i went to check cows one was dead, then i got a tractor stuck,then the john deere place called and said that they couldn't rebuild the water pump today because they broke their press, and somewhere along the way i apparently twisted one of the drivelines on the newer batwing so the wing won't go down now.Want to go to work with me?

 

I would but I dont need and tore up equipment Hope everything works itself out.

 

Sounds like a pretty typical vp issue to me
