Default Injector confusion - what to buy??

I have an 04 6.0 with 199k and I think I need new injectors. Considering upgraded 155cc injectors but I'm confused about what to get. My engine is stock. I'll probably do head studs eventually but for right now I don't want to blow the head gasket. I will be getting the FICM tuned.

Can I put 155cc injectors in an otherwise stock truck and run fine? Is there any advantage to doing this over stock injectors? Can I get better fuel economy?

How do I know what injectors to buy? I see them ranging from $100 each to more than $400. But I have no idea what the difference is?? They are all remanufactured, right?

Are these injectors any good?

You will need tuning to make it perfect. Otherwise it's not just a straight swap with no issues. Some are nothing more than cores that are rebuilt. Some are wholesale injectors from aftermarket companies which are modded by the injectors builders. Other will ONLY use Ford boxed injectors which they mod to your size. The modded Ford injectors tend to have a better long term life over the other brands. It's hard to say what's the "best" to buy. Only you know how much you can afford.

What issues would I have exactly? I'd like to get the upgraded injectors now so that I have them in the future...not going to change out my injectors again for a few HP. Is tuning all that's needed? Will they work ok with stock turbo, fuel system, HPOP, etc?

I don't care if it smokes a little, as long as that doesn't kill my MPG. I'll probably be getting a bigger turbo eventually.

Is there such a thing as a "best" injector for MPG? (And not power)

I can't say specifically "this" will happen or "that" will happen. What I can say is the potential for your new injectors to have a long healthy life will decrease, the truck may not spool correctly, the MPGs could suffer. Using some custom tuning will give you the best option for now until you do more upgrades down the road.

Understand you are talking about changing a MAJOR component on your motor. The tuning is a key factor to how well your motor will run.

155s are a good injector that can be used with a stock turbo. I'll say it's even a good idea for a stock motor but requires tuning to make it work the best for you. IF you run a hot street file you could experience terminal results until all the other supporting mods are done.
