Burning waste oil
So whats the purpose of poring waste motor oil in your fuel tank? It cant be good on anything or am I wrong? Does it give you more power or something? Just trying to figure out why people do it. Thanks
Using waste motor oil as fuel is fine as long as it has been filtered properly , I use to do it with my Ram when I had her , the only drawback is a small decrease in power and as to why people do it , saves on having to dump it , why not us it rather then dump it after all it does burn.
I run it in my IDI Ford .. picked up noticable power and mpg ... I mix 1gallon of wase motor oil with 3 gallons waste ATF ... all of which have been filtered to 5 microns .... Also helps lube pump and cylinders , Some say its bad idea but I have been doing it for 5 years and havent had an issue related to it soo ...
I just bought a hydraulic filter from the local tractor store ... Cheep of course...
then a hand pump that flows into the filter and back out to a 55gallon drum .... With another hand pump for fueling up with .... Then I have an empty 55drum that I will tKe and fill with 50 gallons of fuel, 3gallons of waste oil and 2 gallons of waste atf ... Pump it in to fuel drum, pump it to mix in the drum for a bit and then fill truck tank(s) ...
its easy, just sounds difficult ... Once you do it a few times, you will notice the mpg differences ... Don't add un filtered oil.... Or atf for that matter.... And yes micro sized metal stuff, soot, and such .... Safe to use at 5 microns..... Don't use if u have a truck with a DPF OR CAT ....

This is how I filter my old oil. I run it in my p-pumped trucks and they run quieter with noticeably more power and no more smoke than usual.

If you over oil it ... It will smoke a bit more ... Filtration and having "Dry" oil is everything ... Any moisture will kill the injectors ....
moisture causes hydraulicing in the injector, water or moisture is not compressible and causes the injector guts to bend or distort.... So , dry and good filtration is everything ...
I will be doing a electric fuel pump here soon ... Going to employ a fuel pump and have two hoses, one to suck up oil and the other for mixing the drum and delivery of fuel to my trucks ... I will post that build foe others to copy at will ...

Not in my experience or anybody else's who has stopped by here to fill up on my used oil; even 100% WMO. If your engine is right, the oil burns just as cleanly as #2.
I Notice my Cummins dosent smoke more but , It also has a turbo , which the F250 IDI dosent have - asperation will help the burning of heavier fuel of course ..
Running 5 gallons of atf/wmo in the dodge - seems to be a bit peppier, only really smokes when ya bomb on it ( nothing real new there ) ...
