Default suggested mods for 727

I'm going to upgrade my '90 727. I'm going to put a new TC in, goerend i guess? I would like to install an intercooler, is that possible? Is a trans rebuild really worth the $$$? The truck struggles to tow my 6k lb fifth wheel. Heats up real good. I'm guessing new injectors are a must. I will be going to a shop soon and am prepared to spend a few thousand on the project. Just looking for a little advice from you kind diesel people.

man building a trans is like building an engine. there are so many different combinations of parts you can use for so many different applications. if your trans is currently healthy and money is tight just do a tc, valvebody and billet strut and anchor. if you want a little more and still dont want to pop the thing apart look into some servoes. next its time to come apart and your pocket book starts getting thinner. i personally would recommend a 518 or 618 trans with OD if you really want to start spending money. having OD is nice.
