For about ten minutes after I start up, here in balmy SoCal, there does not seem to be much power/throttle response. After about ten minutes it is fine. Is that normal? If it is, what is it that causes it to do that? Thanks

 

I know mine runs nice when she gets warm but is a littlle doggy when cold but thats just diesles my wifes 6.4 powerchoke is the same way

 

I have been told that the 24 Valve Cummins was designed to run at 190* for best performance

 

Your rig is fine bro. Mine does the same thing..... and hauls ***** when it warms up.

 

Thats normal. Any engine runs better once warmed up. Most diesel programmers will not add power until atleast 140-150 degrees. Some you are able to turn it off. Its safer to get heat in the motor before beating on it.
