Default Input On New Truck

Just bought a 2005 dually off the internet and I think I got a smoking deal.
The truck has 145k on it with a long list off upgrades.

*BD Trans
*BD Intercooler
*BD low stall converter
*Smarty
*5" exhaust
*CAI
*100 HP injectors

It is a Laramie with factory sunroof and 4wd.

I haven't seen the truck in person yet, heard it run..nothing

Any advice???

The price? 20 thousand

Buying a modded truck is a hairy situation in my opinion. Most modded trucks have taken some type of abuse, and typically there's a reason their selling the truck. Probably not to bad of a price, hard to say without inspecting the truck.

I've got one in my shop now that's got a clean car fax but was obviously a flood truck of some type. Not sure how bad but it has water damage.

Sorry about that . For about the past 2 years I've been working with a local independent dealer who primarily buys and sells diesel trucks. Getting to see the good with the bad has opened my eyes to some of the used trucks on the market and some of the tricks their owners use to push them past the auction block leaving a mess for the highest bidder.

Looks decent but there's hardly enough information to make a decision on. Maybe call the dealership in that area with the Vin and ask for service/warranty records to be faxed to you. Next I would find a local shop to inspect the truck pre-purchase. Might cost you 2 hours in labor to get a good inspection but it could really save you!

Well I went and looked at the truck yesterday. It looks beautiful and runs and drives great. I had a problem with it shifting tho and didn't come home with it, but the owner is taking it to the dealer to get it fixed. Wouldn't shift into high gear.
