Cummins keeps turning after I shut it off
Today and yesterday I noticed that when I shut off my truck the motor continues to turn. It's not getting any diesel or still "running" it's been doing some heavy hauling lately . And just recently had its head rebuilt with a new head gasket. Any ideas? It doesn't seem to have less power or smoking more then usual
It stopped doing if for a bit but it came back , could it be from cold weather or timing ? Is only seems to do it when it's cold like -30 Celsius . It also seems to start strange when it's doing this . It turns over more before it fires up
Mine did exactly that a few months back, starter was stickin and wouldn't shutoff. Couldn't disconnect the batt cable quickly so I smacked the starter with a hammer and it quit. About a week of that nonsense it was a little colder and it just went out.

All I could figure is the starter gear hung up on the flywheel and the constant turning with the engine runnin screwed it up? But that sounds like it could b ur problem
