i just put my stock tires on to go out to the race track. I test drove the truck just now and heard a loud pop and now i have no boost at all! the truck is blowing straight black smoke. i checked all the tubes and cant find any blown. Any ideas???

Sounds like one of your boots blew , Check your inter cooler elbows

One of your boots came off or theres a hole in one of them somewhere.

 

definatly a boot, make sure you check every one, if its an auto have some one stand near the truck and do a power brake to see if you can narrow it down. DD

 

What was the diagnosis? Did you find a loose boot or a hole?

Luckily mine was a loose hose clamp. Few turns of the socket and it's fixed. 10mm i think.

actually, the passenger side of the intercooler blew off. i have the imfamous plastic capped cooler. i bought a 100% aluminum from a 06 and everything is working great!
