Default 2004 5.9 cummins 24v white smoke at idle

My truck recently started white smoking at idle stops when I am driving doesn't run rough or idle rough no power lose. Seems like it started right after I get on the stop at a light. What could this be?

White smoke is almost always injectors. Time for some testing to see what their status is.

If they go bad they can all go bad or just some. Mileage is almost no considering if a bad batch of fuel was run thru them. 120k is usual in some places due to fuel quality.

we see the 2003-2004 305HP lasting around 160k, 04.5-07 325hp about 120k. the 325hp has 1 more injection event and consequently have more wear in the injectors.

That is not a good idea, does not bode well for the piston. Stay with the 03-04 nozzles.

What does the "smoke" smell like? Fuel? Coolant?

White smoke is also a sign of coolant getting into the stream...

Steved is right, I have seen a few bad head gaskets result in white smoke. Might want to do a little more checking before you drop cash on injectors.

I just replaced my injectors in the wife's truck. Had 3 going bad. It's only got 103,000 on it.
