ok i have a 2001 2500 cummings 5sd rear disc brakes base truck, no cruise control, ive heard that all i need is a steering column with the wheel with cruise buttons and the right clock springs. A friend has a wrecked 99 diesel 2wd 5sd,with a cruise column but im not sure if it will work or not since i read that they use a vacuum system, if it wont work do i need a column from a 2001, 2002 only does it have to be a diesel or can it be a gas truck 1500, 2500, 3500, i know this has been done just cant find my answer. thank for any info

 

do you have a local junkyard? check it out. A lot of parts are interchangeable across the 1500-3500 94-02 gas/diesel production line.
