BHAF options
I have a K&N Filter on my truck now and everyone is telling me to get rid of it so i have been looking into the BAHF side of things and i have found that the Donaldson B105006 sounds like a pretty good option but i would like to hear some opinions from others before i make a decision for sure
I just bought a Donaldson B105006 BHAF but am waiting for a BHAF cradle to install it in so I can't comment on how I like it yet.
I can tell you different places have different prices for the BHAF. The best price I found was Every Thing Truck Parts $38.47. Ordered on Monday and had it delivere

BHAF is a great filter
highly recommended.
plenty of part numbers for it too...
this site has a quick write up about them and the different part numbers for the same filter.

I just made my heat shield from an on line template and am going to run an Amsoil Nanofiber (eaau 4090) filter that I'm picking up tomorrow. Great flow and cleanable. I'm going to order the prefilter for it also because they are water repellent. The Amsoil is a cool option and only $55.
I would just go with the Donaldson. I also had a k@n. I used the elbow from the k&N setup with a Donaldson filter. looks good works great. my BHAF is currently just sitting on my fender well. Didn't have a cradle or heat shield. I suppose I could make one up but is it really needed that much?? I have checked my filter and there is no signs of wear from vibration on the bottom were it sits on the fender well. so far very happy with it. the amsoil nanofiber sounds good too for $55
I just installed my Amsoil one. Stuffed a piece of 4" od pvc in it and slid the stock intake tube over the rubber filter boot so I could crank down the clamp. Seems like a quality unit.
You could definitely run a larger one but I won't need one for what I'm doing.

Here is a link to the heat shield I made. 4th post down.
