Looking into to clutches
I've got the nv4500 with the 1 1/4 input shaft I'm not sure if I upgrade to the 1 3/8 or not. Depending on that is to what clutch I should get/need. Any help is appreciated
do you plan on building more power in the future? my old NV5600 had a 1 1/4 input shaft and I ran a south bend 3600 double disc clutch and held 538hp just fine.
my trans ended up breaking gears because the bearings were worn out and had too much slop. So I ended up replacing my NV5600 with a later model NV5600 that had the 1 3/8" input shaft, so I sent my clutch discs down to south bend since the clutch had barely any miles on it, and they swapped the clutch hubs over to fit the 1 3/8" input shaft for free. so I'm still running the same clutch today, but with a new trans and even more power..

just go with a small shaft clutch and keep your input..
if it ever breaks, do like I did and send the clutch in to have the hub(s) changed and get the larger input...
doubt you will break it unless you are really slamming the gears or doing hard boosted launches with a dual disc clutch.

Call up KY clutch in Louisville. They will set you up with a 13" flywheel, single disc puck clutch that will support 600 hp for $550. They are great people. I ordered my 500 hp sd puck clutch from them and haven't had a problem, others have but ky will back their product 100% and make it right. They did tell me if you feel it slip just let out and it will grab back, but just take it easy with lots of stop and go traffic for 500 miles. Mine did slip under hard excelloration until 500 miles went. Now it doesn't slip once. Not even a 3rd gear boost launch. I have 100hp Jessup ecm laptop tuning, DAP 175hp nozzles, raptor pump and suction tube kit, with wastegate clamped and letting out at 45 psi boost so I don't strees out the motor too much right now.
