Default 05 Ram 2500 48RE transmission not shifting

I have an 05 Ram 5.9L Diesel, 4x4 48RE transmission, 195,000 miles. I'm moving from CO to TX hauling a trailer that is not near the weight my truck is rated to pull. Heading back from CO this last trip all was well but I began to hear a hum/whine that increased with pitch as speed increased.

The next morning the truck was slow starting like batteries were down and I had to rev it up to near 2500 rpm to get it going. Dropped the tranny pan and oil was dark but no burnt taste or smell. No shavings and gunk on magnet was what I'd consider normal. Last service was at 175,000. There was a 1 1/2" piece of a retainer snap ring in the pan. I've rebuilt several 48RE's and it appears to have come from a clutch pack or 4 other possible places. Added new oil/filter, adjusted both bands and took it out for a ride.

Tranny would not shift to second unless I reved to around 2500 rpm and with no consistency. I tried to rev and let off, shift from L, 2, D and even engaged and disengaged Tow/Haul. No change in when it would shift; unpredictable.

Put in 2 new batteries (not cheap) and no change. No codes are being thrown and all connectors look good. I've read about gov pressure selonoid issues but without any codes didn't know where to check from here. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yah i'd tear that puppy down cause i just did mine and if i had waited any long i would lost 1st and R cause lucky i found both snap rings and they didn't go though the trans and ATF i just changed at 100,000 was burn so fix it all $800 later works like a dream much stronger now but it still doesn't shift as fast as i like when i'm loaded i still have to let off the gas some to get it shift when under load, if empty or trailer less it shifts fine and i had the ECM flashed by the dealer when i first got so it would think faster helped some by not as much as i would liked but it gets the job done
