HEY YALL IM TRYING TO GET A 5.9 CUMMINS USED OVER A 100K MILES ON...FOUND SOME 04 AND 05'S IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND A 06 HERE OR THERE BUT IM NOT SURE WHICH YEAR TO GET. IS THERE ANY YEAR I SHOULD WATCH OUT FOR OR LOOK FOR IN PARTICULAR AND WHY. ITS MY FIRST DIESEL AND I WANT THE 5.9 CUMMINS JUST NEED TO KNOW WHAT YEAR TO GET IN THE 5.9 IF THAT EVEN MATTERS. HELP YALL HELP

 

I like my 06 alot of tuning available for them. Also i prefer the updated look of mine. Just watch drive line problems and fuel problems mostly.

I am also in the market. I had a deposit down on a 97 1 ton 12v, but after further inspecting the truck. Was just to much rust for my liking.

 

I love my 2004. No cats for 03 and 04. But 2004.5+ have the cats from the factory.

 

Get an 04.5-up 5.9, they have better computer for programmers. Love my 03 but I'm kinda limited.

 

I have a 07 and what you can do with a programer is amazing. Since there is no O2 sensor after the CAT you can just cut it out of the exhaust system if you are so inclined. ;-)

 

06 07 best years for a 5.9 If it's an Auto the tow haul and OD off switch is awesome!

 

well if i was to recommend a specific year it would be the same as mine its an 07 3500 single axle long box 1 ton amazing power and it hauls *** everywhere i love it

 

04.5+..... they have the HO motors and a lot more available to them
