got a 97 12 valve with a nv4500, driving down the road and noticed it seemed to start to lose power 5th.. 1st 2nd and 3rd it runs awesome, when the turbo lights it takes off. when you shift to 4th everythings good until it reaches 2000 rpm then it acts like its defueling or governing out ( clutch isn't slippin and not losing boost when it acts up) shift to 5th and its just powerless after 1500.. you can dog it out and everything works correctly until it hits 2000 again..i replaced the air filter and then the fuel filter neither helped. fuel filter was nasty looked like a used oil filter..anyone had this problem or know how to fix it, i would much appreciate it. and no i don't have a fuel pressure gauge so Idk what my pressure is :/ and if it matters i can get around 40 of boost until 4,5 and then its 30 maxed.. NEED HELP thanks

 

Stock injectors,stock lift plum? Would be nice to know fuel press.

Check the screen in the fuel heater probably full of junk.

 

yes stock injectors and stock lift pump. and i have a fuel pressure gauge ordered

okay replaced air filter, fuel filter, and the prefilter still didn't fix it. what's next step? lift pump?

 

Did you do what fireman said? what's your fuel pressure
