2006 f250 6.0 king ranch help!!!!
I just purchased a 2006 6.0 king ranch bone stock 220k and it seems to have a few issues.
1. Low power during acceleration and blowing black smoke
2. Feels like it is missing at cruising speed.
3. Rough idle during start up.
4. Feels like turbo is lagging.
So far I have
1. Replaced turbo. Unison ring looked a little warn
2. Checked boots,filters
3. Cleaned egr and tried running it unplugged
I can't seem to pinpoint my exact problem and don't want to spend a fortune with trial and error.

Check the MAP sensor hose, it goes from the intake manifold to the MAP sensor located on the cowl right near the oil fill tube, it will run like crap without that hose hooked up, you should get a low boost code if your scanner is able to read all the codes.
Check your exhaust back pressure at idle at 1500 rpm and at cruising speed. The specs should be available on here in 6.0 section if not do a quick Google search you'll find it quick. If ebp reading is high your turbo more specifically the vgt end of it isn't working correctly if it is reading low you could have an exhaust leak. Another thing worth a check although modus won't help terribly is injector check pretty sure modis only allows buzz test though.

If you have modis you can check injectors too. Put scanner in graph mode, Look at the pulses and its usually pretty obvious if they are not consistent. You can do injector buzz test too. With modis you can monitor ficm volts while driving. There are a lot of parameters you can check with graph on modis.
Sorry misread earlier did you do a turbo relearn?
