Hey all new here. Just got a 2004.5 cummins HO all original 110k miles. But does have some issues. Was throwing map sensor codes and fuel delivery. I changed fca and map sensor and all codes lights off but did not do anything. Starts fairly well but idles good for 20 seconds then goes the up and down rpm with the engine shake, really rough idle. Also if I get rpm up around 2k itll just shoot all the way up and get all wacked out up and down reving out. Will have to kill truck to stop it or would go all day.has low power when driven. Any help on where to start would be much appreciated. Wish it threw codes so I would have an idea on what to do. Only thing changed was high pressure pump.

 

Next step will be check injectors.

 

Is injectors worste case? Do I have to do them all or ? Any recomendations on what ones to get. Maybe stage 2?

 

pulled injectors some look like a lot of black gunk on nozzles, with mix matched remans, hoping putting new ones in will cure something. thanks

 

That's more than likely the issue, just make sure you replace them all with brand new Bosch injectors. Might not be a bad idea to add a little extra filtration to save your investment. You can get stock injectors or Bosch Motorsport ones which come in 50hp and 100hp for a few bucks more. Check out Diesel Auto Power.

Going with some 50hp injectors from dap anyways, But says he fixed his problem by turning the smarty on ?
