The link below is a sound sample of the noise my truck is making, I am un sure if it is transmission or engine. Was told me to unbolt the torque converter and start the truck, to eliminate the transmission that did not work all I got was a bad grinding sound. It may be my imagination, but when I bolted it back up to me the noise sounded different. Also when driving when it goes in to lock-up the noise get less pronounced, it is mostly heard from driver’s seat, and under the truck by the transmission. The motor was just rebuilt 3500 miles ago, and had new injectors, turbo, camshaft, all rods and crank checked out to be in spec. I sent an engine oil sample off to be analyzed it came back all was normal I would think if it was a rod or piston something would show in the report. So let me know what you think.

The only thing I noticed was a light rattle for a few seconds at the beginning, but after that I don't hear anything wrong, but the sound on my laptop sucks.
