Will an e4od from a gas powered truck or a 2wd truck or a newer body 7.3 powerstroke work in my 96 4x4 f250 powerstroke?

 

It's best to fully diagnose the transmission before figuring on swapping parts. And a ford factory reman can be had for less then 2k with a 3y/36k warranty. Assuming that you can pull and swap the trans.

Stay away from a amaco rebuild unless your plan is to sell it. I made that mistake and 60k miles later she is showing signs of kicking the bucket.

I'm getting the truck dirt cheap old ranch truck pretty beat and I guess the trans is bad havent gotten it here yet don't want to put allot in it seeing as how its beat up haven't decided what exactly I'm doing with it fix it and sell it do a powerstroke into a chevy swap idk yet just trying to figure out what cheap trannys I can use behind it from like a wrecking yard that will hold up
