i can't figure out my 6.0
i had randalls do some work to my 6.0 while i was on a deployment and had it for a month and started acting up. it happens at 45 to 55 but wont if i mash it acts like it aint gettin fuel sometimes dies. it has 50 horse swamp injectors and sct tuner need advice thanks
thats what i was thinking im not around it but well be thursday i was told to plug my programmer in and see what the pressure is goin down the road it should 1800 to 2800 right? but i was also told it could be my programmer since it only happens at 45 and 55
Depends in if it was doing it before or after you programmed it have you tried switching tunes ? And I'm not a 100% sure on the pressure but it's some where around there check your FICM voltage and your ICP sensor and IPR to if you have ways of checking how long has it been since you changed oil? If your oil is breaking down it causes these 6.0s to act really wierd I run sct tune with innovative tunes and it breaks the synthetic royal purple down in 6 to 7000 miles and starts running like crap
im goin to try switching tunes and i know they did a oil change so it only has 2,000 miles on it since they did it. ill look for oil leaks and they said they checked the voltage on the FICM where is ICP and IPR sensor at?
well i test drove it this weekend it sat for 2 months it started just fine and ran fine when it was cold but after it got warm and idle the oil pressure gauge on the dash would drop to nothing but if you get on it alittle goes back and then it would take 4 seconds to drop again after it went back idle then it died then i started it the next ran fine again i was told it would be hpop.
might be a injector o ring leaking on the oil rail, first i would make sure you have low oil pressure take out your oil filter and hold down the plastic valve at the bottom while someone cranks should take 5 seconds to fill the housing. if your low oil is good i would pull the icp and air test it.
sometimes on the older style pumps they had a Ball come loose, this ball is used to block a port that was drilled to create a passage way inside the pump. The ball is located low on the drivers side of pump, when it comes out it bleeds off oil and has the same symptoms you are explaining, it can be fixed with a 1/2 tap and a plug with locktite on it, a whole lot cheaper then a new pump. worth a look before you buy a pump.
