2005 injectors
I have a 2005 cummins with 135,000. I have an edge hot juice which I run on 3 , a bully dog crazy Larry downloaded which I run on 3 and an industrial injection 62/12 turbo. I lost my #1 injector a month ago now I just lost another one. Is this due to my module and downloaded or normal wear and tear. I called scheid diesel today and they said a normal common rail injector is good for 100,000 to 125,000 miles. Any advice
If you are not running extra filtration then it is normal.
Average lifetime should be around 200-225k with good fuel and good filtration. Lacking that there is no telling when they will go bad and the programmers won't help the life expectancy.

03-04 can last a lot longer as they have about a 25% lower duty cycle since they do not have the post injection event.
05-07 we see problems typically between 80-120k , but occasionally will see higher 160k or so. 03-04 we see 160-220k and sometimes higher.
FYI we will test injectors for $10 each.
Starting with a quality injector is key... then protect it with good fuel and good filtration. Pressure boxes will cause greater wear.

Thank you Jkidd. I brought to a shop by me. They recommended I replace the other 5 injectors, put a better fuel filter in my canister and they ordered a after market fuel filter to add when it comes in. I guess 130,000 isn't so bad but its a big expense.
