So i have an 06 Cummins and sometimes at idle the engine kind of sputters when i look at my rpm gauge it doesnt move but sometimes it shows 300 rpm at idle while my H&S Mini max shows a constant 740 to 753 i don't know if this might be related but also randomly wont start it cranks and turns over then immediately shuts off then i crank it again and it starts up fine this happens about once a week no DTCs

 

Clean all your batt connections! May be a cam sensor issue also.

 

I think i will change the crank and cam position sensors see if that will take care of the problem any idea as to where they are located?
