Default Auto Trans

I have a 05 3500 with 50k on it and had the trans flushed when it had 40k. The fluid then was dark and didn't think to much about till now when it has turned a little dark again. I put a mag hy tech deep pan on it and that's when I noticed it. The trans temp gauge is screwed in at the pan, I know it needs to be screwed in at the lines but not sure where at, anyway the pan temp stays about 100 degree. I pulled a 10k load a few weeks ago and it got to 150, it stays 100 mostly.
I have been told there is a check ball somewhere in the lines that needs to be drilled out but don't know that much about the auto trans and lines.
My driveway has a slight incline to it when backing out, when I first put it in reverse it sets there for about 10 seconds then will gradually start backing out on it's on power. It does not matter how long you idle, same results everyday or if you leave it for weeks at a time. When I changed the pan there was no debris in the pan just fine film.
Should I try to save this trans by putting a bigger torque converter in it along with a bigger valve body or just drive it.

Temp sensor in the pan is fine. Have you had the bands adjusted? if you mean bigger converter as in more stall that will equal more heat. A modified aftermarket vb or a retuning kit for your vb can help shift quality but, if you have internal trans problems the vb isnt goin to fix already burnt or slipping clutch packs. The 2nd gens have a check ball in the fitting on the trans cooler mounted to the engine.

Thanks for the reply, yea I know nothing of the autos these day's. I was told a bigger converter but I didn't know. So a new vb may be in store because on cold days it will shift from 1st to 3rd then downshift to 2nd then shift fine thru the rest of the gears.
And no I have not had the bands adjusted I guess that's a starting point.

Your shift issues is your governor switch and pressure. Should have changed them when the pan was off. More than likely the forward and rear clutches and bands are due. The stock 48RE trans are tough but need add ons to help with the massive torque the Cummins dishes out. Torque converter / BD valve body and make sure they throw in red eagle clutches and koleen steels. Or better yet buy a BD tranny. dieselperformance.com
