Hey guy's, after doin some research i've come to find out that the auto to 6 speed swap is beaten to death on these forums. But i can't seem to find much on the other way around. Wondering if it is common to find someone to swap my 6 speed with. I have an 07 with a G56. Pardon my ignorance, i'm new to the diesel world. Thanks

 

You want to pull the 6 speed and install a 48RE?

 

yeah, i know most people seem to go the other way with it, but after a few years and a few different cars/trucks, im ready to drive an auto. i've found write up's on the auto to manual swap, but nothing about what I want. Anybody know of one, or atelast know of what trans options I have that'll fit in this thing? Thanks!

 

easiest way is a 48re with a manual valve body. Otherwise id say ecm and wiring harnesses and some re wiring will be taking place. Might could go with a 47rh but i think even with that one youll have to have some custom linkages made and transfer case and driveshat yoke changes. With the manual vb youll still be shifting.

I have the auto that I'll swap for your G56, that's TCM all interior pieces and cooler.

 

im still confused on why in the world this would ever cross your mind>? save yourself the time and money and buy a duramax if you want an auto. just my opinion
