The other day I was driving my truck it shifted into overdrive and started bogging down. It wasn't bad at first but progressively got worse. The code the truck is throwing when checked is P1963. I had a friend run diagnostics on it and its throwing a fuel injection timing code. Someone give me some idea of where to start trouble shooting. Btw the injection pump was replaced last february where do I need to start????

 

Check fuel pressure for starters, sounds like its time for another injection pump.

Thanks that's what I was thinking and the code is not p1963 it's P1693

 

Thats just an indicator of a ecm code being present. Theres most likely another code associated with a pump timing failure.

i had a code like that and it was the fuel filter plugged!!! and it ran good then bad good bad etc check ur filter

 

I'll check it, but the filter is only a few months old never know though
