Default 07 3500 wierd smell

Hi guys I need some help, I have a wierd smell coming from the rear of my truck. It smells like a vacume belt that is melting. I have checked under it for anything abnormal and found nothing. I have no trouble codes and everything seems to be fine. I checked the engine bay, my belts and everything seem good. It is about 20 degrees outside could it be my ebrake frozen? It smells different than brakes or clutch though. Any help would be great thanks.

I have had a similar issue with my 09 2500. Smells like a belt burning, but what it ended up being was a caliper piston hanging up. Put new pads on all the way around the truck and cleaned and greased lubed the piston up ( had a bunch of dirt and mud caked on it) and put it back together. Worked like a dream after that. Smell went away. It's something to check anyway before you spend any amount of money. Good luck with whatever you find.

do you know if it was doing a regen when you stopped? Mine smells if I stop at the wrong time during a regen. My Edge tells me when it is doing a regen.
