Default recommendation on antifreeze

My truck is new to me. 85K on it. I've been changing all fluids and the last one left is the antifreeze. I'm reading that a low-silicate antifreeze is recommended. Is this true? Any recommendations on any brands or anything? Is good old Prestone good enough?

I'm running NAPA coolant. From what I have heard/read/been told, engines with Aluminium components are the the most picky to coolant. Not much, if any, aluminum in our trucks.

If you're worried, add a bottle of Wix radiator additive has anti corrosion in it. Antifreeze that has the Cummins label on it has anti corrosion stuff in it. Use cheap antifreeze and add the Wix.

you may want to consider changing your thermostat out while you are changing the coolant. so you dont have to worry about dumping it out later.

Thanks all. sounds good on all accounts. Yes...I want to change my stat too, that's what started this actually. I figure why not change the hoses too, there are original. Thanks again.
